Review and swatches of the Models Own Mirrorball collection
Hello lovelies,
Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes yesterday, I've had a great day!
I also finally found some time to write this post which is all about the new Models Own Mirrorball collection! I suspect Models Own is trying to use the current obsession with indie polishes and glitter bombs but hey, it's great! I don't buy indies because they are a bit expensive and most of the girls live in US which becomes very expensive including shipping to UK.
But I wanted this collection! I was prepared to buy it but then something happened... lovely Vic from Glowstars blog has sent me this collection and didn't want anything for it! Could you believe it? My first Random Act Of Kindness and I am so grateful, thank you so much Vic! You all visit her blog and show her some love because she's an amazing person!
Freak Out! - mix of magenta, light and dark blue glitter. The glitters are of different sizes and shapes creating very interesting mix. I've applied one layer of Freak Out! over A England Lady Of Shalott and Pure Ice Oh Baby! combo. It applied nicely but I did have to place the glitter a bit.
Dancing Queen - mix of green, gold, light and dark blue glitter of different shapes and sizes. I've applied one layer of the glitter over A England Tess D’Urbervilles.
Disco Inferno - mix of green, gold and orange glitter. Disco Inferno is one of my favourite shade. The glitter is not big and chunky so it looks very nice on the nail. There's plenty of glitter in the bottle so I've had no problem applying it. One layer of Disco Inferno over OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons.
Boogie Nights - mix of silver, blue, purple and magenta glitter. Some of the glitter is a bit bigger in this polish so it has caused an uneven finish. I haven't used topcoat which might help smoothing it out. This is one coat of Boogie Nights over A England Ophelia.
Hot Stuff - small red glitter mixed with differently-shaped rainbow (colour changing) glitter. It applied very easily and I'm wearing one coat of Hot Stuff over A England Jane Eyre.
I really like this collection despite the removal being a PITA. Next time I decide to wear any of these glitters I will use the PVA glue as a base coat. Otherwise they are really pretty, they apply nicely and dry fast. There is however one drawback with these - the smell! They smell like diluter of some kind, it's a very strong and unpleasant smell.
Mirrorball collection is available now at the Models Own website but is not included in the current 50% off sale (code SUMMERSALE, sale until 2nd October) and right now it's sold out until next stock comes in. One bottle costs £5.
