Hello lovelies,
11.11. is a Remembrance Day and I'm doing a Poppy design for the first time this year. I've tried to come up with some original idea how to do poppies and not just paint them. I got inspired by those posh jewellery poppies you can buy so I have done bling-y glitter poppy. The poppies had true red colour but the lighting has made the colour look quite orange.
How to do it:
I started by painting my nails with Zoya Tracie. Then using topcoat and hoof stick, I have started to place red hexagonal glitters (or glequins as some may call them) one by one. Once I was done with the glitters I've used black nail polish and large dotting tool to create the centre of the poppy. Then I've use a Nails Supreme nail art pen to draw the green stalks. Last step was to seal the design with topcoat. I needed two thicker coats of Seche Vite as the glitters were not always flat on the nail due to my natural nail curve.
Where to get the products I've used:
- Hex glitter/Glequins - I got my set of 12 colours from Born Pretty Store (you can use my 10% discount LUHH10)
- Dotting tools are also available at Born Pretty Store
- Zoya polishes are available at Zoya.com if you live in US. In UK you can get them at Amazon, Amarya or on Ebay.
- Nails Supreme nail art pens available here.
Hope you like the design and please share & pin to help me spread the Remembrance Day awareness among the younger generations ;) x
