Showing posts with label glitter

Hello lovelies,

As you can imagine I was cracking my brain as to what to do on my nails for my wedding. Today I want to show you a test manicure I did. Glitter gradient is simple yet so pretty and I wouldn't be ashamed to wear this as bridal nail art. However as you know I have chosen to go with stamped manicure in the end.

While I was wearing this test manicure there was a beautiful pink peony blooming in my mother-in-law's garden and it was the perfect fit!

I have used three coats of OPI I Theodora You because it's quite sheer. Then I've added the glitter to the base of the nail and spread it towards the middle, creating a gradient. The glitter polish is beautiful Shimmer Polish Alice.

I've previously created a glitter gradient tutorial so all you have to do is change the polishes ;)

Hope you've enoyed today's post even though it's a very simple design. Have a lovely day! Lucie x

Hello lovelies,

Today's post is about an experiment. Experiment with bright neon loose glitter. Lovely people from Bundle Monster have sent me a set of glitters and among them were the glitters I'll be using today. Glitter placement can look stunning but sometimes it can be a right pain, especially if you unwisely layer the glitter like I did! I wanted to do a gradient with it but layering glitters made the surface uneven and a bit bump even after applying topcoat.

Let's have a look...

I started with two coats of Barry M Gelly Coconut, a creamy off-white polish. Then I've painted a small part of the nail with top coat and started sticking glitters to it. I repeated the same process and added less and less glitter towards the tip of the nail and most glitter near the cuticle. Lastly, I've sealed the nails with a coat of topcoat. This manicure wasn't a total success and I can still see that bumpy surface in the pictures but we learn from our mistakes, eh? I also regret forgetting to take pictures under UV light, it could have been epic!

The glitter didn't bleed colour so I really appreciated that. The set also offers a nice range of colours in three different shapes - circle, hexagonal and diamond. The glitter set can be purchased at a Bundle Monster website.

Have a lovely day! Lucie x
