Showing posts with label lavender

Hello lovelies,

I'm back from a short holiday break in Czech Republic so I've been very quiet this week. In the light of this week's horrific attacks I wasn't going to post any more nails BUT I refuse to feel and act defeated, scared and depressed. I will not stop doing what I love and since some French ladies in the nail community already expressed that they do not wish to see 'Pray for Paris' nails I will respect that and post something neutral I've prepared last week before I left England. So I will not further modify this post and will post it as it was originally intended.

Today's manicure combines different textures and I've created it a while ago. Unfortunately it took me ages to edit the video tutorial so I couldn't show you just yet! But good news is - it's done now and there is a tutorial!

I have been trialling different texture nail art manicures in the past few months and this lavender manicure is the first one. At the time I still wore rounded nails on my right hand so to precede your questions - no, I did not change my nail shape completely ;)

Hello lovelies,

I have decided that this whole week will be dedicated to A England and the new 'To Emily Bronte' collection. Every day I'll show you one of the new shades and there will be time for nail art and giveaway too so stay tuned!

About To Emily Bronte collection: 'The collection of 5 shades is dedicated to the author of the worldwide famous English gothic novel Wuthering Heights: translated in many languages, adapted in movies, theatres and TV series; and subject of famous poignant song by Kate Bush.'

Today I want to introduce you to Cathy, 'ghostly, eerie white grey holo with an illusory flash of blue the unhappy tormented female protagonist fluctuating as a ghost after her tragic and premature death'.

Cathy is gorgeous and elegant pale lavender grey with very fine holo and iridescent blue shimmer particles. I'm wearing two coats and no topcoat, the polish is still nicely glossy on its own. I found the formula to be little bit thicker than the rest of the collection which caused me to have few issues with application. If applied thinly, the polish can be a bit patchy as it dries fast. Therefore I had to start applying it thicker and that solved the problem. As you can see, the final look was great even without topcoat and nobody would probably guess I had some problems.

This thicker formula isn't usual for A England as almost every polish I've tried before was flawless. But all in all, nice polish that just needs a bit of a practice to use, that's all. Tomorrow I'll show you another shade from To Emily Bronte collection so stop by ;)

To Emily Bronte collection is available at A England website or from one of the international distributors.

Hope you've enjoyed the post and have a lovely day! Lucie x
