Hello lovelies,

I have an awesome and colourful post today! Lovely ladies from Morgan Taylor have sent me their CHROME collection and I have been playing with it in the past couple of months and created quite a few nail arts with them (more coming soon!) and today I want to finally review it and share the first looks with you. I'm always up for any new technique or nail art product and since the ledlighting technique started to be popular, the mainstream companies seemed to have jumped on the bandwagon.

Morgan Taylor CHROME collection consists of six bold translucent polish appliqués and a silver chrome base polish. This collection has been created to make it easier to create colourful nail art designs and I've put it to test.

The idea is to apply a coat of Silver Chrome Base polish and then apply the colours in single layer, overlapped or mixed together, marbled or stamping with them. Of course there are plenty more possibilities to create eye-catching nail art!

The Silver Chrome Base is surprisingly pigmented and it's opaque in one coat, making it the perfect base. It helps the colours to stand out and stay bright even in single coat. All of the colour appliqués, as Morgan Taylor calls them, have pigmented jelly formula. This means they are not fully opaque, they are partially translucent and have that glossy and 'squishy' look. They can be used for ledlighting but the darker colours are almost too pigmented (you'll see what I mean in the last few photos).

The colours are:

  • Chrome Base (silver metallic)
  • Sunset Yellow Appliqué (yellow)
  • Amber Rush Appliqué (orange)
  • Cherry Appliqué (cherry red)
  • Royal Appliqué (royal purple)
  • Ultra Marine Appliqué (rich blue)
  • Ivy Appliqué (green)

I have created a needle-marble manicure using the whole collection which nicely shows how the colours behave, layer and create new shades when overlapped and mixed together. It created some really interesting moments, my favourite are the thumb nail and middle nail.

I think it looks pretty cool, eh? I love how colourful and unique each nail it! This manicure is without topcoat because I did some further nail art with it. But it was still nicely glossy and mostly smooth even after the marbling. All of the colours and the silver base dry fast so I either had to work fast or apply thicker layer.

In this next manicure I've tried the ledlighting technique. As I've said previously, the dark colours are quite well-pigmented which means they can almost cover the black stamped lines. I still like the darker nails (on the second one I used less colour to make it lighter) but the yellow-to-pink nails are my favourite because I can clearly see the floral pattern underneath.

You've probably noticed, that I've used a floral pattern from my Bundle Monster collaboration plate! I'm still finding myself reaching out for this plate a lot - what can I say? I really like it :D

My last thought on the Morgan Taylor CHROME collection? I definitely like it a lot and you'll see many more manicures done with this collection. I love the boldness and versatility and also that the polishes are easy to work with, they don't get gloopy and stringy like OPI Sheer Tints and they don't smudge under top coat. If you like creating easy nail art looks, this might be a great collection for you.

Hello lovelies,

I've got another exciting manicure to show you today AND there's a video tutorial! You already know that I love the shattered glass nail trend but I like to try new things. I came across a beautiful opal photo at The Arkenstone (big thanks to them for allowing me to use their photo) that inspired me to use the shattered glass method to create this rainbow opal look.

I couldn't be happier with this manicure, it looked amazing in real life! I stared at my nails for ages and didn't want to take them off. It resembled the opal stone even more than I thought I could pull off and it wasn't that difficult to do. Here is the list of products I've used and where you can buy them..

And here's the promised tutorial on how to recreate this look:

What do you think? Simple enough to create? If you do give it a try I'd love to see your nails! Tag me @lucysstash or include #lucysstash to let me know :)

Just as I'm writing this post I've done some googling and found that Lexa from glitterfingersss-en.blogspot.hu has done little bit similar look at the beginning of this year even though she has used a bit different method.. So just to avoid any misunderstandings, I'm not claiming to have invented this look but I didn't see anyone else until I just googled it :) Check her out!

Hope you've enjoyed this look and will check out my tutorial as well! Have a lovely day! Lucie x
