To keep your Blog fresh, how about you run a monthly or Bi-monthly feature (or you could turn it into a Comp') where followers showcase their version of a Manicure challenge that you set them.<br /> <br /> It would be a great way to involve your followers more &amp; I'm sure others would love to see fans interpretations of your work.<br /> <br /> This is just a thought. You are a super talented photographer and one of the few bloggers that accurately captures the beauty of a polish. I have used your swatch &amp; review posts multiple times to help make purchasing decisions especially when I am narrowing down my choices or trying to compare new polishes to older collections that you've swatched. I would definitely like to read a little more info about each polish though in terms of application, finish, what other polishes it reminds you of, etc. <br /> <br /> I do understand swatching is very time consuming but your blog is definitely one of my go-to sources for that. I think with a balance between the nail art and polish reviews, you are absolutely doing what your readers want. And the little spotting of new jewellery/watches/etc makes the post more interesting for me! Hi, I have to say that I check your blog quite regular, because on your pictures I can always see superb nails. Mine aren't that long or cut straight but I feel than longer nails show the color and nail art better and that is the reason to come back and look at your perfectly manicured talons. I am a nail art fan so that's what I prefer to read! You continue to create such intricate and great looks. Too many swatches bores me since I feel like I see them in so many places. <br /> I've been wondering in general about blogs vs other social media. Could it be that readers are more prone to follow you on IG and fb and be content with what you post there? Perhaps you have as many followers (or more) than before, only that they don't visit your blog but prefer to keep up with your work elsewhere? I like blogposts since they give you more on each look but perhaps the fast pace of everyday life makes people gravitate towards IG?

Hi Lucie - yours is one of the handful of blogs where I always read all the words. I follow about 700 blogs, so although I look at each post, I don't always read every word as I just don't have time. I will read though if the nail art catches my fancy. But for yours - and about a dozen others - I read every post. I love nail art, tutorials and swatches of new collections, and your photography is great. However, I (personally) am not at all interested in watches, jewellery, make up or anything else. It's only the polish and nail art that I am interested in. Keep up the brilliant work :)

Hi Lucy, I love all these comments and agree with most. How about trying some different types of inspiration posts, like &quot;Inspired By An Emotion&quot; or &quot;Inspired By A Recipe&quot;? (Include photos of the finished food product!) Even &quot;Inspired By A Poem&quot; or &quot;... Greek Culture&quot;. What about Vikings?! Or Japanese kimonos? Ancient Egypt!! The possibilities are endless. Generate symbolic nail art that follows a theme (not just the latest young adult movie release) -- &quot;Floral Week&quot;, &quot;Flashy Mani Fridays&quot;, &quot;Conservative Saturdays&quot;, etc. and reach for some meaning deeper and beyond the actual polish. You could then include a little anecdote that illustrates the theme, like the flashy chick at work who always bares her cleavage or the matron in her stuffy floral sweaters. How about vintage fashions, 50's malt shop doo-wop music and name your mani after a particular song, famous people, etc. Not many bloggers do any of this because they get caught up in the whirlwind of swatching the latest collections or whatever 31-day challenge presents itself. I'm noticing changes among my friends and their views towards regular polish and nail art. I used to have a group of friends that were right there with me and we got to the point where we could guess what polish a person was wearing by looking at their nails. It's a great party trick. Nowadays they're off comparing notes on SOG's and having jamberry parties. So I wonder if the product cycle is filtering over to the blogosphere--something to think about!

Hi Lucie - <br /> <br /> I read your blog through a reader, so I'm assuming that doesn't show as a hit to your site. Maybe lots of others are also doing the same? I find it too hard to keep up with all the blogs I want to without using a reader - I can't go to 200+ blogs every day and there are SO MANY nail blogs these days, I can't imagine others can keep up either. And, like has been mentioned, Instagram is huge for nails now. I wouldn't worry much about a drop in overall views - I think everyone who blogs is seeing the same thing. People are looking for ways to simplify their lives, whether it be receiving website updates via email and readers, just doing Instagram when they are on the go, or, like a lot of nail enthusiasts I know, have just checked out of the nail community. If you are still happy doing what you're doing, don't worry about how many are following - just do what you like! :)

I think it was your nail art that drew me to your blog but I also love your beautiful swatches of new collections. I'm only interested in nail stuff. Usually when blogs starts expanding to include other things, that sometimes becomes the only thing they blog about as opposed to what they originally started with, which switches me off. To be honest, I don't do nail art, so those post to me are like, I look at your desings, admire them and that's it. But I am a big nail polish fan, so I enjoy the reviews most, especially when a collection comes out and I can see all the colours. I wouldn't mind if you posted about other favourites, make-up for example or jewellery, whatever you are into, but I hope the focus will still be on nails. I've read several bloggers that feel like their blogs are less visited now then compared to a year ago, but those are Swedish bloggers. It feels like the hype is over when it comes to nail polish and art, now it's those readers left that are genuinely interested and not just because it's the latest thing that is written about everywhere, but thatäs my personal theory. <br /> I love your blog, and I love your nail art. I like the idea of showing nail fails as well as those that look great, since I suck at nail art it's nice to know that even the best doesn't get it right every single time. <br /> I'd like to know more about where you get your inspiration for nail art, do you plan it with drawings? Nail care routine? Tips and tricks, not just tutorials.

Don't let yourself get down, first of all your blog is amazing, your swatches are always so accurate and your nail art is outstanding. <br /> I can only second the comments above, Instagram is taking away a lot of readership, but I prefer written words over the exaggerated use of hashtags any time! <br /> Some things I enjoy in nail blogs are guest posts, through those I've discovered so many cool and creative blogs. I also love Inspired by ..... posts, may it be fashion, animals, whatever. Nail fails are something I like because they show that nobody's perfect and everyone fails from time to time. Last but not least I looove those blogger collaborations like Lacquer Legion etc.

You're blog is far from boring! Always such great ideas, tips and professional manicures that I can actually duplicate at home. I appreciate all the time and effort you put in to making your blog. That has never gone unnoticed or unappreciated with me. I have tons of email each day. I do alot of crafting and have many blogs that I follow. I'll admit that when I open an email and I can't see the entire post embedded in that email, I'll delete it and move to the next email. I don't know why I won't just click the &quot;read more&quot; button to continue on to that individual posting. I power through just to get through as many emails as possible. It may be because I'm a visualist. If there isn't anything to look at or catch my eye, I move one. I just like see the entire post at once. BUT....I quickly learned that I was missing out when I did that with your email notifications. When I had skipped over yours and I would eventually go directly to your blog, I could clearly see I had missed out on past great techniques or new manicures. I do not do that anymore Ü I recognize your name and honestly, its one of the first emails I will open and read because your posts are done so well. I am a nail art blogger too, from three years and I know that sometimes the lack of interests from the readers can be confusing. I experienced the same thing and than I thought to mix a little bit my blog and add more personal things on it, so in some of my posts I put pictures from my trips, concerts, events that I am going too and my readers like it very much! Don't be so hard on yourself. Don't forget you do this as a hobby, don't let it take over your life and cause you problems. I could never do the nail art you do but i still love to see what you've created, i often show my other half what you've done, we're both in awe at your talent. I think he dreads the day i say I'm going to try something you've done! Polish reviews are great too, and the videos are amazing. <br /> Don't let nail polish get you down, you do this for yourself, we're just tagging along for the ride!

I love your nail art tutorials and swatches, and always try to see every post. What I would love to see is maybe some nail care posts? You have gorgeous nails and I always wonder how you maintain them.

Hi Lucie, personally I love your blog as it is and I don't find it boring at all. You're very talented so at times I get a bit frustrated when I try to follow a tutorial and my nails look like cr*p compared to yours, but fortunately you don't like next door so people don't get to compare them in real life ;)<br /> Maybe the drop in traffic happened because there are so many nail artists online and there's only so much time people can spend on reading blogs/browsing instagram/watching YouTube?
