Hello lovelies,

As you know I've attended Olympia Beauty exhibition and exclusively there the new OPI Skyfall collection was available! I couldn't resist buying the whole collection just to show it to you! This collection was inspired by the new James Bond movie called Skyfall.

From the press release: This holiday season, OPI celebrates the 50th Anniversary of a fellow world icon – James Bond – appearing in Skyfall. Starring Daniel Craig and Javier Bardem, this highly-anticipated twenty-third installment opens in theatres nationwide on November 9, 2012.

Inspired by the film’s blend of glamour and danger, OPI launches Skyfall Collection, featuring twelve limited-edition nail lacquers for Holiday 2012. “OPI is thrilled to work with EON Productions to celebrate 50 years of the style, swagger and mystique associated with Bond 007,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “From metallic and glitter finishes to jewel tones and even a jet black, these lacquers capture the film’s sophisticated and glamorous look.

Casino Royale - plum purple creme. This is a stunning purple that instantly reminded me of OPI No Spain No Gain but Casino Royale is ... The polish has an excellent formula as it applied flawlessly and was almost opaque in one coat. I'm wearing two coats to achieve the full opacity and lovely deep shade. It dried fast and removal was easy.

Die Another Day - red shimmer with orange and brown undertones. This is a really interesting shade - not completely red but not brown - just something in between with a hint of gold shimmer. The formula is very good - It applied easily but brushstrokes were slightly visible. Polish has a good pigmentation even in one coat but I've applied two. The second coat helped to sort out the brushstrokes a bit. Also once I applied topcoat, the colour got more vivid and brushstrokes even less visible.

Goldeneye - yellow gold foil flakes with a bit of orange flakes. I think this is the polish everyone will be talking about! The gold is simply gorgeous with this expensive an luxurious feel to it. It's a bit sheer in the first coats but when I've applied thicker second coat it was enough for the full opacity. You might want to apply three thinner coats to speed up the drying time. I must say that you'll pay the price for wearing this beautiful gold - the removal is something to be afraid of. Use the foil method or the PVA glue basecoat otherwise you'll end up with gold flakes all over your fingers. They are pretty hard to get rid off :-/

Skyfall - deep maroon creme with burgundy undertones. I would rather see this shade in the Fall collection rather than in the Holiday one. It evokes in me warm cosy feelings linked to autumn, falling leaves, chestnuts and hot chocolate. The formula of this polish is excellent! It applied flawlessly and two coats were enough for a full coverage. It dried fast and extra glossy and the removal was easy.

The Spy Who Loved Me - bright red jelly-creme with gold flecks. This cool-toned red  is perfect for the Holiday season. The gold shimmer makes it look festive and the half-jelly formula makes it ultra glossy. It applied easily and drying time was average. I'm wearing two coats which were enough for the full opacity. I've encountered a slight problem with removal as the gold flecks tend to stick to my skin.

You Only Live Twice - raspberry and gold glass flecked finish with magenta undertones. I love this shade, my pictures don't do justice to this beautiful polish! It's vivid, vibrant and glossy! It applied really easily and two coats were enough for full opacity.

This first part of the Skyfall collection is my favourite, I love the rich red shades and the luxurious gold. The collection offers various finishes like cremes, shimmers and glass flecks. These colours are just great for Holiday! All polishes had an excellent formula that applied easily and dried fast (except The Spy Who Loved Me which dried a bit longer). I've applied one coat of topcoat over all shades to add a bit of gloss.

Hello lovelies,

Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes yesterday, I've had a great day!

I also finally found some time to write this post which is all about the new Models Own Mirrorball collection! I suspect Models Own is trying to use the current obsession with indie polishes and glitter bombs but hey, it's great! I don't buy indies because they are a bit expensive and most of the girls live in US which becomes very expensive including shipping to UK.

But I wanted this collection! I was prepared to buy it but then something happened... lovely Vic from Glowstars blog has sent me this collection and didn't want anything for it! Could you believe it? My first Random Act Of Kindness and I am so grateful, thank you so much Vic! You all visit her blog and show her some love because she's an amazing person!

Freak Out! - mix of magenta, light and dark blue glitter. The glitters are of different sizes and shapes creating very interesting mix. I've applied one layer of Freak Out! over A England Lady Of Shalott and Pure Ice Oh Baby! combo. It applied nicely but I did have to place the glitter a bit.

Dancing Queen - mix of green, gold, light and dark blue glitter of different shapes and sizes. I've applied one layer of the glitter over A England Tess D’Urbervilles.

Disco Inferno - mix of green, gold and orange glitter. Disco Inferno is one of my favourite shade. The glitter is not big and chunky so it looks very nice on the nail. There's plenty of glitter in the bottle so I've had no problem applying it. One layer of Disco Inferno over OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons.

Boogie Nights - mix of silver, blue, purple and magenta glitter. Some of the glitter is a bit bigger in this polish so it has caused an uneven finish. I haven't used topcoat which might help smoothing it out. This is one coat of Boogie Nights over A England Ophelia.

Hot Stuff - small red glitter mixed with differently-shaped rainbow (colour changing) glitter. It applied very easily and I'm wearing one coat of Hot Stuff over A England Jane Eyre.

I really like this collection despite the removal being a PITA. Next time I decide to wear any of these glitters I will use the PVA glue as a base coat. Otherwise they are really pretty, they apply nicely and dry fast. There is however one drawback with these - the smell! They smell like diluter of some kind, it's a very strong and unpleasant smell.

Mirrorball collection is available now at the Models Own website but is not included in the current 50% off sale (code SUMMERSALE, sale until 2nd October) and right now it's sold out until next stock comes in. One bottle costs £5.
