Hello lovelies,

Today marks the 6 year anniversary since I founded this very blog! I can't believe how fast the time went and how much my nail art and polishing evolved since then. A lot of things happened since then - I graduated from university, got married, got my manicurist and nail technician license that enabled me to work on some cool projects including Fashion Scout at London Fashion Week, got two nominations in Cosmopolitan Blog Awards and the most importantly, YOU are here with me! Every year I thank you and every year I mean it. Somehow my Facebook audience alone has grown to more than 1.6 million and so many of you read my blog regularly. For that I am eternally grateful! I've never been big on writing long speeches so I think I'll shut up now :)

I've been thinking what nails to post today and what a better representation than the latest hot trend - Shattered Glass nails! I know I've done these quite a few times but I can't help myself, I just love the look so much! This time I've opted for a plain white background which made the nails look so pure and fairy-like.

For these nails I've used:

UK: http://www.gwchadwick.co.uk/pearlescent-cellophane.html
Worldwide: http://bit.ly/1QA1IEl (Born Pretty Store - use LUHH10 for 10% off)

This is such a simple yet striking look for me and it's easy enough to do for everyone. Here's one of my previous tutorials on how to do these nails, just replace the sheer pink polish with white or any other colour. After some testing I've concluded that it is best to use foil glue instead of topcoat to get the cellophane stick to the nail.

I hope that you've not only enjoyed today's post but also some of the past ones I've done and thank you for all the comments you leave me here and on social media, I read them all! I wish I could reply to each and every one of them too. THANK YOU again for being here with me :)

Love, Lucie x

Hello lovelies,

I'm back with the Shattered Glass Nails! It's a huge hit worldwide and this time I wanted to replicate the clean nude look. I'm loving this trend so much and I have a lot more coming!

Since the first manicure earlier this week, I have done some research into the pearlescent cellophane and where to get it. It's really not that easy to find the exact thing but I managed to dig out some UK sources for you:

So that's the final look! I have used OPI Natural Nail Base Coat, OPI Don't Burst My Bubble, Pearlescent/opalescent cellophane (links above) and Seche Vite top coat.

I've prepared a tutorial on this (super simple) technique and how to recreate this exact look:

I would really appreciate if you could leave me some feedback on how to improve my video tutorials. I know I'll never be as fantastic and quirky like Christine aka Simply Nailogical but I feel there's still room for improvement.

What's your take on this shattered glass look? Like or dislike? Let me know ;)

Have a lovely day! Lucie x

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the cellophane pieces are very prone to peeling off within a day so definitely use two coat of top coat. They would last much better in gel polish.
