Hello lovelies,

Today I have a special review, I will show you four Little BU polishes that are primarily aimed at little girls but are also good for pregnant women as they are odourless, non-toxic, not tested on animals and vegan. Polishes sent for review:

I'm also using the Little BU topcoat over all nail polishes. The topcoat is very special - it will extend the wear of the polishes so you can wash your hands. However it does have some catches. Same as nail polishes it needs to be blow-dried and I have experienced crackles/ridges in the topcoat that appeared after the blow-dry which you'll see in the photos.

About: "Little BU® is a water-based, wash-off nail polish that is safe for kids. The trendy shades have been created with a non-toxic formula for girls who like to express their creativity and accessorize with a touch of colour!"

Sounds good? I particularly like the non-toxic and wash-off. So let's have a look at the polishes:

Alexi - dark magenta polish with fine magenta glitter. it applied easily and the formula was very pigmented. I needed two coats for full coverage and the colour is just gorgeous. I have applied the special topcoat which caused the big ridges in the polish.

Stella -blue-based purple shimmer. Another gorgeous shade that girls will love! It applied well and I needed two thicker coats for full coverage. The finish is slightly streaky but that's just me nit-picking. I've applied topcoat again and blow-dried it which caused the big ridge on the nail.

Emma - red creme shade. I love red polishes and this is a very nice shade but I really didn't like it I'm afraid. My problem with it is that it had little pieces in it which caused bumps. The finish is not completely smooth as you can see in the pictures. The formula was thicker than the other polishes but it still applied well. Pigmentation is excellent, almost one coater.

Kyra - champagne shimmer. This is pretty and sparkly shade, quite neutral. The formula of this polish was good, it applied easily. Pigmentation was slightly lower but I still got away with two coats.

My thoughts: For little girls? Yes! For nail polish addict? No!

The polishes itself had good formulas and pigmentation (each formula describe above) but without blow-drying they don't dry even after 30 minutes. If you blow-dry them they dry fast and can last quite a bit even if you wash your hands - use cold water if you don't want to wash them off. The topcoat will prolong the lasting of the nail polish and it will take longer soak in warm water to wash off the polish but it causes the ridges when blow-dried.

I personally wouldn't use them again unless I get pregnant and I will want non-toxic nail polish. For somebody who loves nail polish they are not ideal but I realize I am not the target audience. On the other hand I think they are ideal for little girls who want to paint their nails like their mums without the risk of putting chemicals on them.

They can be purchased in Harrods, London, at Little BU website or at other retailers. One nail polish retails for £9.95 but look out for offers, sometimes they do promotions.

Because I don't have kids yet and I don't know anybody with a little girl, I'm giving all these nail polishes and topcoat away! If you would like them for your little princess and would be willing to pay for the postage, just leave me a comment with your email and tell me why should YOU get the nail polishes. I will choose one comment within a week and contact you. UK only please due to shipping restrictions (these are not flammable but Royal Mail are t***s and would probably destroy them).
