Hello lovelies,

It's almost here! I'm so excited about tomorrow's beauty exhibition I hope I'll be able to get some sleep. I already have a list of polishees I want to get and OPI Skyfall is on the list! I'm also hoping for China Glaze Bohemian collection even though I have bad luck with it (remember the broken bottle of polish in my suitcase?). Omg I so can't wait! ...Ok ok calm down Lucy and get back to today's post...

Right, so today it's a bit of an experiment of matching cool and warm shades and different finishes. I've combined cool-toned metallic SpaRitual Slate with gradient strips of SpaRitual Aurum, Conduit and Rusted Lux.

Slate - grey metallic shimmer. Slate is not pure grey but it is mixed with earthy brown shades which makes it quite unusual. It applied really easily and pigmentation was excellent. The shade was almost perfect in one coat but I've applied second coat just to make sure. Slate is streaky a bit so be careful when applying. I've applied topcoat to seal the manicure.

Hello lovelies,

As you all know (and if you don't know, I'm telling you), lovely Adina, the creator of A England brand, has released a new collection called Gothic Beauties.

The Gothic Beauties collection consists of five shimmer shades. Four of them are black with coloured shimmer and one, Dorian Gray, has metallic finish. Each shade is named after a well-known book character and each one of them tells tragic yet beautiful story.

It was quite hard to capture the beauty of the polishes as the shimmer is visible under certain conditions like artificial light or under the direct sunlight. Here they are:

Dorian Gray -gunmetal grey with metallic finish. Dorian Gray has this very subtle shimmer/grainy particles that make the finish look very interesting. It's not plain smooth metallic look but this mix of grey and charcoal particles. It applied like butter, really smoothly. This polish has a great pigmentation as you could do with one thicker coat or two thinner coats. I'm wearing two coats and topcoat. Dorian Gray is a little bit streaky but nothing too bad as you can see.

Jane Eyre - black base with reddish-brown shimmer fleck. The shade looks much more shimmery in the bottle than what translates to the nail. Pictures below taken on daylight in the shadow show how dark the polish really is. Shimmer is visible the most in the direct sunlight. It applied very easily and the pigmentation is excellent. It's almost one-coater and I'm wearing two coats and topcoat.

Lady of Shalott - black creme with navy blue shimmer particles. This shade is my favourite of the whole collection because it shows the shimmer even without direct sunlight. It applied very easily and it also has really good pigmentation. Lady of Shalott is almost one-coater but I'm wearing two coats to get the perfect coverage.

Ophelia -black creme with purple shimmer particles. Ophelia is the darkest shade of the collection. The shimmer nicely shows in the bottle but it is not very visible on the nail. To be honest I would prefer the shimmer to be bolder. It applied nicely and easily, same as the other shades. It is also one-coater if you'll use thicker coat. I'm wearing two thinner coats and topcoat.

Tess D'Urbervilles -black creme with emerald green shimmer particles. Now we're talking! This is such a beautiful shade! The shimmer is bold enough to be visible in the daylight yet the colour is still almost black. It applied very easily and the polish levels itself out nicely. Its pigmentation is excellent, I'm wearing two thin coats and topcoat.

Overall, this collection is a must-have for dark-colour lovers. I was a bit disappointed, that the colours were actually too black as I would have preferred for the shimmer to be more visible. All of the polishes have an excellent formula that applies easily and have great pigmentation. All of them are almost one-coaters and they dry quite fast. Well done Adina!

I would recommend you to read Ommorphia Beauty Bar's review as she went really into a depth and into the stories of characters behind each polish. It's very beautifully written.
