Distressed Gold Nail Foil Design with TUTORIAL

Hello lovelies,

 

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I thought I would do a simple green and gold nail design with tutorial today. I've prepared a distressed nail foil design which is very simple to do and all you'll need is a polish, nail foil glue, nail foil and topcoat good for nail foils (water-based topcoat is best).

 

I'm using OPI AmazON...AmazOFF as a base colour which is great for today as well especially when combined with gold foil. Mine is from Rio Beauty from this set. As always, I'm using water-based topcoat but I still didn't find a good replacement and I'm running out :( I have an oil-based top coat from Rio Beauty that does work but it dries even longer than the water-based one.

Hey Lucy! Absolutely LOVE this look! I think I'm going to try it out too, when my nails get longer! Regarding a topcoat that doesn't crinkle foils, look what I found a while ago http://mylucidbubble.blogspot.com/2012/09/a-topcoat-that-works-for-nail-foils.html The solution she found works great (I tried it, photos here http://mypsychonails.blogspot.com/2013/12/liquid-gold-for-new-year-aur-lichid.html), doesn't take a long time to dry and you get enough topcoat for countless manicures! Hope this helps!

It's like a beautiful antique look (in love with OPI AmazON...AmazOFF - great choice ;))<br /> Video tutorial - says ohhhh! - really happy you're investing in these :D<br /> I've done something similar to this only it was over black and only because it was the only way for me to use foil without a)going insane or b)chucking the foil roll into fire and watch it burn :P

Thank you very much :) Foils do require a little bit of practice if you want precise shapes but they are not that hard to work with :)
