Hello lovelies,

The Nail Art Fashion Week is nearing the end but I still have some manicures to show you ;) Today's theme is Inspired by Fall 2016 Dress - create a manicure inspired by your favourite garment from the current Fall 2016 fashion week.

There were some amazing dresses that I would happily wear but I wanted to find something unusual, quirky and with great pattern. I found the right dress at Orla Kiely Orla La collection, the same collection that my inspiration for a Day 3 came from.

About the collection: "Day looks include printed dresses with patterns influenced by nature and the northern English moors in a georgette fabric. Abstract leaf and tree prints covered dresses with pleating details, some with a bow neatly placed on the collar." Read more about this collection and see all the pictures here.

The purple tree pattern was a love at first sight and I knew I had to fit it in somewhere.

I've started with base coat and two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. Then I've selected the largest dotting tool I had and Zoya Odette and dotted the lightest and widest part of the tree crown first. Then I've used darker shade of purple (Zoya Monica) and dotted the middle part. Then, using slightly smaller dotting tool and OPI Honk If You Love OPI mixed with a bit of Cirque Memento Mori, I dotted the inner and last layer of the tree. Now I had to paint the tree branches and I've used Color Club black nail art striper (use STASH15 for 15% discount). All sealed with Seche Vite top coat and later matted with OPI Matte Top Coat.

Here's how the nails looked glossy:

Hello lovelies,

Before I start showing you some bright and Easter-y manicures, let's enjoy some more dark and chic colours! I always love Autumn and Winter polishes because I love wearing dark colours, especially reds and purples. So it's no surprise that I really enjoyed wearing today's manicure! It's nothing fancy but it just felt right, you know...

I've combined SpaRitual Modern Craftsman and Bright Future into one manicure and both shades nicely complement each other.

Modern Craftsman is from the Pause collection for Autumn 2015 and it's a blue-based purple shimmer with copper particles. It's a really beautiful and unique polish and I'm pleased to say it also has a nice formula. It applied nicely and was fully opaque in two coats. I needed a thicker layer of topcoat because the copper particles created slightly gritty finish.

Next, there is Bright Future from the Awakening collection for Winter 2015. This deep purple has half-jelly half-creme formula and high gloss finish. It was slightly less pigmented so I applied two thicker coats or you can do three thin coats for full opacity. It applied nicely but it's easier manageable when using a bit more polish on the brush.

So there you have it, two beautiful SpaRitual polishes that are still wearable even though it's March already! I don't think I could ever give up dark colours and you'll probably see more of them throughout the year ;)

Availability:

UK: SpaRitual UK (Modern Craftsman now on sale for £5!)

US: SpaRitual US

Czech Republic: SpaRitual CZ/SK (because I've been kindly gifted the Bright Future polish by Czech distributors)

Which polish do you like better? Lucie x
